Sportsfield Specialties, Inc. announces the sixth expansion since its incorporation in 1998 at their Delhi, NY corporate headquarters. The $8M construction project, which is currently underway and slated for completion in early 2020, will add a 60,000 square foot manufacturing plant to Sportsfield’s campus.
According to Sean Clark, company President, the new facility will optimize manufacturing for Sportsfield’s spatially intensive, high growth product categories. This includes products such as baseball/softball dugouts, outfield batter’s eye systems, filming towers, 30’ to 70’ protective netting systems, and the recently introduced WeatherScape® team shelters, recipient of the 2018 ASBA GameChanger award. He added that the expansion will allow areas of the existing facility to be repurposed to further support organic growth across Sportsfield’s core product lines.
The catalyst for the construction project was the increased demand for Sportsfield’s wide range of field equipment solutions, explained Eric Hulbert, Director of Operations. “We’re not able to meet the growing demand and product diversity in our current facility,” he said. He added that the goal is to build a world-class facility where technology and innovation are the focus, helping to maintain Sportsfield’s reputation as an industry leader.
“Ultimately, we’re in the business to serve our customers, and this investment is the latest in our continued effort to serve those customers better,” Clark concluded.
